How Vets Stand Up to the Department of Veteran's Affairs
Disabled veteran benefits continue to elude many soldiers. Rulings on applications by our war heroes for Veteran Administration benefits can take months or years to process. What's more, they don't always rule in favor of the veteran.
If a vet is denied disabled veteran benefits, they can file an appeal - a lengthy process that involves a lot of paperwork and time. Working with a professional who speaks "legalese" can help ease the pain of the benefits claim process, but it isn't always a viable or affordable alternative.
The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program offers free legal services to veterans and qualifying family members with pending disability appeals. This non-profit provides disability veterans benefit claims training to volunteer attorneys. It's nice to know that more than 1000 attorneys have provided free legal representation to veterans through the Veterans Consortium Prop Bono Program to date. Disabled veterans with pending benefits appeals can contact the Veterans Consortium online.
